    Practice overview

Long before I discovered my passion for birth work I had a desire to help others and graduated college with a degree in Psychology. I spent years working as a nursing assistant in a psychiatric hospital where I received extensive trainings on trauma-informed care and crisis interventions. I then moved on to working in Hospice where I helped patients and families navigate end of life decisions and comfort care. So when did I decide to become a doula? Well, when my doula changed my birthing experience for the better - I knew I wanted to do the the same for others. I started studying all things labor and birth in 2016 and absolutely LOVE sharing my gifts and professional skill sets in this space. As an evidence-based professional I make sure to bring you the most up-to-date research to help guide and support your best birth! There's one more thing you should know about me; I'm also a certified Pilates Instructor! Which means, I bring functional anatomy and pelvic floor expertise to your birthing experience. Yes! You MUST move your body and your pelvis when you're laboring your baby. With over a decade of teaching experience, I will help you understand how movement, breath, and pelvic floor muscles contribute to the outcomes of your labor and birth. Together we prepare, practice, and persist!

Doula Rebekah is gifted at what she does! Her background in advocating for vulnerable people is very apparent in her birth work. She is confident, compassionate, and extremely capable. Rebekah empowered me to trust my body and my ability. She recognized my nonverbal communication during labor and knew what I needed or wanted before I could identify it. I thought it might be strange to share my most private moments with a stranger, but she was the opposite of a stranger from the moment we met. She always made me feel comfortable, validated, and strong! If she is willing I would love to have her as part of any future births.

The TIME Rebekah spent with us prenatally was unlike any other doula I could find! Most of the Doula’s we interviewed only did 2 prenatal appointments which didn’t feel like enough for my needs as a VBAC mom.. but Rebekah did 4 appointments with us and spend SO time with me and my partner, that we literally had NO questions and no worries leading up to my labor. Rebekah also helped me to better communicate to my OB office when they didn’t seem to support my VBAC birth… and I’m so thankful she prepared me for that. Without her I’m not sure I would have had a successful (AND un-medicated) VBAC!! Her knowledge of pelvic movement and breathing literally got me through every single contraction and I did not need pain meds. I highly recommend Rebekah if you’re looking to have a chance at having a VBAC or if you’re a first time mom she will teach you EVERYTHING you need to know. She is an amazing teacher with a great sense of humor and really easy to feel comfortable around.

Rebekah is an amazing doula. She is compassionate, knowledgeable, and passionate about empowering women in their birth journey. She is easy to talk to and very accessible before, during, and after birth. I have total confidence in her. She has proven herself to be an outstanding birth worker. I’m so grateful to have had her by my side during my first birth.

As a first time mom Rebekah played a critical role in ensuring we had a positive birthing experience. With Rebekah’s help we were prepared and our minds at ease knowing we had the tools to make informed decisions. She was a joy to go through labor with and we felt so much more comfortable with her by our sides as we welcomed our son into the world! I would recommend Rebekah to anyone who is looking for that extra bit of support!

There is no one quite as honest and passionate about birth as Doula Rebekah is. We loved her the moment we met her and looked forward to having her over for prenatal visits. She answered all of our home birth questions so confidently and honestly throughout the process, and my husband was so glad I had a professional I could talk to instead of searching Google. I was planning a home birth but had to be transferred to hospital care because my pregnancy became high-risk at 38 weeks. Rebekah was able to quickly prep us for a hospital birth and made the whole experience so peaceful and empowering. She wasn’t afraid to interact with hospital staff and made SURE my husband and I were respected and that all of our home birth wishes and values stayed part of our birth plan. Most importantly, she helped us stay patient and avoid an unnecessary induction when the doctors were pressing for it. Hiring her and having her on our team proved to be an invaluable experience!

Rebekah helped me in ways I didn’t know I needed, while making me feel comfortable and safe. She is patient, attentive, and very kind. My daughter (3) was allowed to be as included as possible and considers Rebekah a friend. She also gave me breastfeeding support after birth and truly salvaged my BF relationship with my son. I thought my body was just not meant for it when he couldn’t latch, but she worked to get him latching and build my confidence. We went 10 months strong!

Rebekah is an amazing doula and person! I knew I wanted a doula for my first born, and the stars aligned when we found her. We had no idea about the birthing process, and it was through her pre-birth classes and mentorship, we felt ready when the time came. What my husband and I did not expect, was that we’d be in labor 3 weeks early. Rebekah was there with us for it all. I wanted a natural birth, so I was in active labor for 72 hours trying everything I could to make that happen, and Rebekah was by my side coaching and supporting both my husband and I the whole time. My birthplan had many changes along the way as my body had other plans, so a lot of decisions were constantly needed to make for the next steps. Rebekah was the calm for us during these times, and her wisdom, kindness, and expertise helped guide us along the way. Our son ended up being born via C-Section, and Rebekah changed roles for a bit to be our photographer during the surgery. We now have the most beautiful birth photos we never would have had without her. As soon as our son was born and we were in the recovery room, Rebekah jumped back into her role of Doula, and helped me (a very exhausted new mama) breast feed for the first time while making those moments so powerful and beautiful. It’s a big decision to choose who you want to be with you as your child enters the world, and we guarantee you will not regret having Rebekah be that person for you!!
