Practice overview
Pronouns: She/They
I created my services in the loving memory of my abuelita, Olivia, who was also known as "Mother Canada." The Caribbean ancestral healing practices and rituals taught to me as a child provided such a rich and liberated passion that was destined to align me to assist and serve those in need.
My flavor in this work includes empowering affirmations, celebrating the body, and overall empowering energy!

December 22, 2020 at 7:22 pm | Client reviewI honestly don’t know where to start. This woman is literally sent from God. There are very few human beings that possess the heart, drive, tenacity, perseverance, commitment and loyalty like she does for our community. She epitomizes the term “practice what you preach.” She doesn’t limit herself to education in any way or form and she prides herself on including every being. To sum it up, Mystique is simply not of this earth and is surely one of a kind, truly a life giver!

December 22, 2020 at 7:27 pm | Client reviewBeing a woman of color, bringing life into the world comes with its own fears. Doing so during a pandemic, upped the ante to say the least. When I first hired Mystique and had the opportunity to sit down with her, right off the bat I knew that Mystique had done the work and is very knowledgeable. Mystique is polite, caring, and enthusiastic about the work she does. Mystique gave me/created space for me, to share my past experiences, and allowed me to feel, while educating me on how to advocate for myself. Things changed so quickly with the onset of the pandemic. In NC we went from having 3 ppl in the delivery room, to 1. I had to choose between my doula or my spouse. Mystique made that selection easier by adapting and coming up with ways that we could connect while I was in labor. Mystique never missed a beat. When I went into labor Mystique made sure she was in contact with me every step of the way. The most important part about my experience is having someone care about me surviving, just as much as I did. That’s the kind of doula you want in your corner.

December 24, 2020 at 6:49 pm | Peer reviewMystique is an extraordinary birth worker in our community. They understand the need for not only diversity and inclusion, but equity amongst birthing families as well. As a non-binary, Black, queer, femme, Mystique is able to navigate and meet the needs of marginalized populations at such a vulnerable time. Hands down, Mystique is one of my favorite birth workers and they are highly respected by the families they serve and their peers.

November 4, 2022 at 11:02 am | Peer reviewI am pleased to recommend Mystique Hargrove, as a professional of Meela. I have had the privilege over the course of 8 years to witness the outstanding academic ability and hard work within the community with Mystique. During this time I have seen their deep passion for all things related to family and child health. Especially within the inclusive, radical healing for both birth and postpartum care clients. I have always admired their compassion and empathy for others. Loyalty and determination make Mystique an outstanding professional. They are truly a meaningful and crucial contribution to this community.
