The Doula Circle is a full circle collective providing preconception, birth, postpartum support, and more! We provide photography services, multiple classes, lactation support, nutrition coaching, placenta encapsulation, and have an office in Old Colorado City in Colorado Springs.
I became a doula in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. My long time friend (and owner of the doula collective I am with) was encouraging me to become a doula for years. We met when we were both surrogates, at a support group for our surrogacy agency. We bonded over birth and she urged me to consider becoming a doula with my experience, knowledge, and love for the birth world. At the time, I was in nursing school and managing a restaurant. I expected to become a labor and delivery nurse and maintain a clinical role; however, when COVID-19 shut down the restaurant I managed, I needed brain stimulation, and decided to pursue a doula certification. I discovered, after almost a decade of on and off clinical roles, my heart and skills belonged in a support role, and I absolutely adore what I do!
