I trained through DONA International in the end of 2013, and have been a birth doula since 2014. I offer two prenatal meetings, support throughout your entire active labor and birth, as well as 2 to 3 hours after the birth, and one postpartum meeting. All meetings are in your home, and I also support labor at home before transferring to your chosen birth place (time permitting).

I support clients prenatally in order to help them be as prepared as possible to give birth with their unique goals in mind. I love to support natural labor and birth, and understand that that is not everyone's goal, and sometimes birth requires more medical intervention. I support through any interventions from the birth plan, and stay until several hours after the birth to be sure all is well.

Devon was knowledgeable, professional, responsive, calming, and wonderful to work with. As a first time mom, I appreciated the two prenatal meetings we had with Devon, and I found the meetings to be very reassuring. Not only did Devon provide a wealth of information at each meeting, but she also demonstrated spinning babies and other techniques that would help prepare us for labor. Devon guided me through the process of developing our birth plan, and she always had an answer for any of my questions. She never made us feel rushed during our prenatal meetings, and it felt like she really utilized that time to get to know my husband and I, which helped us feel comfortable approaching my labor as a team.
When I went into labor, Devon responded promptly to my texts and phone calls, and she was encouraging every step of the way. One of my main goals for labor and delivery was to avoid as many medical interventions as possible, and I honestly don’t think I could have done that without Devon’s support. She stayed by my side through many hours of labor, providing suggestions for positions and providing acupressure and massage throughout each of my contractions. Devon also provided me with a TENS unit, which I found to be very helpful for pain management, and she worked cohesively with the hospital staff. She is extremely knowledgeable on the labor process and we loved the resources and books she she shared with us prior to birth. During labor Devon was a wonderful part of the team, supporting me while working with my husband. She definitely helped us both get through a stressful delivery process. After birth, her postpartum follow up was helpful for processing the birth. We particularly enjoyed her ability to show us prenatal & postpartum sleeping and nursing positions and prenatal stretching routines. Devon is thoughtful, thorough, and very experienced.

She supported my husband and I during pregnancy, quickly answering any and all questions we had. Her support was founded in current research and a wealth of experience. Her prenatal visits gave my husband and I invaluable knowledge and preparation for birth, and with that a sense of calm and peace. During labor, Devon was our anchor. She grounded my husband and I with emotional and physical support, as well as advocated for my needs. My husband especially valued Devon’s support during labor because it allowed him to be present for me as a partner and not have to be a birth expert. The hospital staff was incredibly complimentary of Devon and her ability to seamlessly integrate into the care team. I could not have had my ideal birth without Devon and she will always hold a special and integral place in my birth story. I would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone looking for doula support!
