Practice overview
Growing up in India, I saw the women of my family taking care of the new mother around the clock where she gets to heal, recover and bond with her baby. There was a village to take care of the mother and the baby during postpartum. Elderly women of the house made lactating foods and gave body massages to the new mother. There was no village here. I was not thriving, I was surviving. So choosing to become a doula wasn't a hard decision to make. As your postpartum doula, I become the village you rely on. Your journey as a mother, and your emotional and physical health is a priority to me and here you matter as a mother, woman, and a human being. So leave the worries of everyday life to me and explore the beauty of motherhood, even though postpartum may not feel all pretty, I have got your back!
I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental, and empowering place for parents so they can advocate for their needs, and know that they are everything their baby and family need!
My goal is to support your philosophy as a parent and encourage self-love and confidence.

We have worked together providing newborn and breastfeeding support in a community setting. Charu shares her expertise, skills and resources with compassion and warmth. It is always a delight to be talking with her. She continues to add to her knowledge and certifications and is always very up to date. Charu is calm, reassuring, respectful and always present with clients and her peers. As Charu’s mentor and colleague, I have learned much about caring for new families. I strongly recommend Charu!
