Andrea was incredible! I procrastinated on looking for a doula because I wasn’t sure if I needed one and she was able to support me when I only had 2 weeks left until I was due. She never made me feel like I was bothering her and she even had a newborn of her own at home! She always checked in and she came by a couple times before birth to meet me and help me do exercises to help me relax. I notified her that I was going to the hospital and she was there so quick after I called and told her what was going on. She brought essential oils, candles, snacks and more! When I was in active labor she encouraged me to switch positions and to get in the tub (which was what I wanted I just couldn’t think for myself). When I started to have more of a high pitch yell she reminded me to make low sounds and that help SO much. She helped remind me that I was strong and that I could do this even though I said I wanted that epidural she knew I really didn’t. I ended up giving birth to my baby boy within 3 hours WITHOUT THE EPIDURAL! I achieved my goal! I couldn’t have done it without her! She was also able to make a keepsake out of my placenta which was absolutely beautiful. I was unable to breastfeed my baby right after birth because of some stubborn placenta complications and she was able to provide her own breast milk for my baby. That meant so much to me. I’d pick her over everyone to be my doula for my next birth. She was personable and my family loved her! She took the BEST labor pics!
