Valencia A. | Doula in Springfield, MA

Valencia's Birth Services

    Practice overview

    I began my career as a Birth and Postpartum Doula, after completing my initial Birth Doula training with DONA International in 2016. Shortly afterward, I joined Manhattan Birth's Mentorship program for 18 months of additional trainings on tending to the postpartum psyche, basic life support, Neo-natal resuscitation, supporting LGBTQ+ families, lactation studies, and more. My trainings have allowed me to provide more comprehensive support through education, emotional and physical work, healing through nourishment, placenta encapsulation, baby-caretaking, and more.

    Prenatal and Labor Support
    $ 2700
    I provide emotional, physical, informational and spiritual support to birthing individuals and families, leading with a more traditional and holistic approach. Through prenatal visits, I take the time to foster a relationship of trust and support with each client (and their family). Before exploring your birthing options and creating a birth plan, we spend some time getting to know each other. My goal is for each client to feel comfortable enough to focus on their birthing experience, while trusting that they are fully supported, no matter the circumstances or process. I support each client through visits, phone and e-mail availability, on-call support at 37 weeks, labor and delivery support and immediate postpartum care.

    Postpartum Overnights
    $ 375
    Sometimes, new parents just need a good night's sleep and transitioning with a newborn can present some serious challenges. Overnight support allows client's to maximize their rest from time to time, while recovering from pregnancy, labor and delivery. During overnights, I offer the option to provide 100% newborn care and support varying feeding methods. Overnight shifts can be 8-12 hours long, starting as early as 7pm and ending as late as 7:30am. I charge a base fee for the first 8 hours and each additional hour at my daytime postpartum rate.

      Valencia is a warm and loving professional. She is entuned to her clients needs and is willing to go above beyond to support the family unit of her clients. Valencia is very knowledgeable about the birthing experience, neonatal care, breastfeeding and post partum and much more. She has an abundance of resources for homeopathic remedies and nutritional advice that will both support the mother and the developing fetus/infant. She did a remarkable job at teaching the necessary skills to the family unit to ensure stability and empowering the mother her ability to continue caring for her infant after discharge.
