Practice overview
I have been assisting family and friends with birth for about 12 years. I saw my first birth when I was 13 and knew the birth world was a perfect fit for my heart. I have three children, two girls and a boy. All of my birth experiences were very different, but my son's birth is what helped me decide to pursue my Birth Doula certification. I had overwhelming support from my midwife in such a way that his un-medicated, natural water birth was serene and one I'll never forget. My Birth Doula package includes two prenatal visits at your home, generally two hours long, support for your entire labor and delivery up to two hours postpartum (flexible), one postpartum visit in your home as well as unlimited email, phone and text support from the time of hire.

December 17, 2020 at 12:45 pm | Client reviewAmanda was wonderful. She made me and my husband feel super comfortable with her and she was able to answer all of our questions and was extremely thorough with the process. When it came time to have our abby she made the hospital room incredibly comfortable and worked through contractions with me in a variety of different ways. When i decided to get an epidural she was fully supportive and stayed through the whole birth (which ended up being a Cesarian). She sat with me after my daughter was born while i was being stitched up and my husband was tending to our newborn. It was very comforting and I’m super grateful she was present for that. We are still in contact today and i have recommended her to other expecting Mothers since!

December 18, 2020 at 12:30 pm | Client reviewAmanda is that genuine combination of caring, knowledgeable and interested in you. By the end of our first coffee meeting, I knew she would not only be my doula, but my friend as well. She heard and understood my birth story from my first child and I knew I would be in good hands when Baby 2 arrived. When I found out in the final weeks that the baby was breech, Amanda was there for me as I mourned the loss of the birth I had envisioned – and the fact that she probably wouldn’t be in the room with me during my C-section. But when the night arrived a few days early, she was still the first person at the hospital, helping me breathe through my intensifying contractions as they prepped me for surgery. She stayed with my husband before he was allowed in the OR and waited for us to come to the recovery room with our beautiful baby in our arms. It was such a special night and I am eternally grateful that Amanda was there with us. We unfortunately haven’t seen her since then because of the pandemic, but we have kept in close touch and I know we will meet up again when it’s safe. I could not recommend Amanda more highly!

December 18, 2020 at 1:07 pm | Client reviewMy husband and I were referred to Amanda by a friend who was a former client of hers. Upon meeting Amanda, I instantly connected with her and appreciated her warm and confident presence. She is very well-versed in her trade and was a constant for us as we prepared for the birth of our first child, during child labor and beyond. Amanda was attentive to our needs and aware of surroundings. I felt confident going into child labor that Amanda was on our side and would do all possible to make it a joyful experience. And that she did!
