I decided to become a postpartum doula because of the doulas' role to nurture the mother in the postpartum period. I was blessed to be present for 3 of my 5 nephews births and being present for the 4th trimester for my sister in law. I saw a great need for nurturing and support for them and the entire family during that time and it motivated me to become a postpartum doula.
