I became a doula after realizing I was not being heard. I wanted a vbac and I knew I could successfully have one. I ended up having a home birth vbac and that was when I realized I was called to support birthing women during labor and birth. I often see doulas being called water fetchers and although I'm there to make sure you have water and ice chips, Im also here to help with pain management, breathing techniques, labor positions, affirmations, and making sure your partner is being supported as well.

Care philosophy

I care deeply about moms and partners getting and having the support they both need. I will advocate in every possible way you both need me to, and my goal is to make sure you don't experience birth trauma if I can help it.

I have primarily been in the mental health field for the past 9 years as a Licensed Social Worker in various settings. In 2017, I became pregnant and began doing research. I found so much information, support, and power in doulas, midwives, and other birth workers. In 2020 I became a surrogate and it was an amazing experience. After two pregnancies, labors, and postpartum periods I had gained tons of information and met different people that led to me seeing the importance of birth workers and what having the right support can do for someone. I strongly believe that the medical system alone is not designed to result in the best outcome emotionally and physically during the various stages. Having the additional support and information when engaging in the medical system during such an important time is key to having positive outcomes and experiences.

Hi! I'm Davina. I'm a doula. I'm a parent of two - ages 9 and 5. I'm fiercely passionate about the changes that need to happen within the birthing systems of this country - from informed consent, trauma healing, choices, and patience, our birthing people need to be supported through this life shift. I approach my practice with a lens of anti-racism and inclusivity and continued learning. I also know that there is beauty in being for some and not for others, and I honor your need to work with a doula who you feel comfortable with. That is why I am here to offer a free consultation, allowing us to get to know one another.

Care philosophy

Note: Currently, I am only offering support in a virtual format. Personalized care & support for you during your pregnancy journey. We will meet once a week to check in, answer your questions, explore birth plans, fears, excitements, and general preparation for this massive shift in your life. Whether you are a first time parent or have done this before, I'd love to be there with you.

Hi there! My name is Jazmyne and I realized I've been a Doula since before I started studying and practicing. My heart lies in supporting families through one of the most monumental shifts of their lives. When I had my first baby I didn't realize how valuable a doula could be to a laboring and postpartum mother until I delivered my 2nd daughter and fell into postpartum depression but had no one to support me through it. My heart is so open to this labor of love and I really hope to connect with families to provide them the support I did not have.

Care philosophy

My personal mission is to empower women. My own experiences and those of my chosen sisters has lead me to becoming a Doula.Nurturing growing families as they transition from pregnancy, to birth, to bringing baby home is my passion and I bring every part of myself to my practice and look forward to supporting you and your family.

Jazmyne has been an amazing support for me and my family. I had a very difficult and extremely traumatic delivery, Jazmyne has been consistent with checking in daily and visiting. Jazmyne is always professional and a good teacher for a first time mom and dad. Jazmyne has such a peaceful spirit and brings such a positive vibe to my household and healing. My family and I are very appreciative of Jazmyne, and i recommend her to anyone who is pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

Doula Services: FAQs

A doula is a professional that provides emotional, physical and educational support to new parents before, during, and after childbirth and into the early postpartum period. Doulas are companions who strive to give families a safe, positive, and healthy labor experience. They provide parents with evidence-based information and education on childbirth and are someone who the parent can turn to with questions and concerns about having a baby. Doulas also take an active role in collaborating with the parent to create a birth plan.

A certified birth doula offers advice and techniques to help reduce the stress that the parent often experiences during childbirth and provides you with education about different aspects of delivery and labor and what comes after.

You can hire two types of doulas in Las Vegas, NV: a birth doula and a postpartum doula. The birth doula is during your pregnancy and through the birth of your child. They provide you with emotional, physical and educational support during your pregnancy, your labor and delivery and for the first few hours after your child is born.

It is up to you whether the certified doula can remain in the operating room during the procedure.

A doula in Las Vegas, NV can help you in any kind of birth. Certified doulas are able to assist parents in creating the ideal “birth environment” and help parents deliver their baby safely. A doula can provide support during the birth whether it occurs in a hospital, a home, or another birth center of some kind. Doulas are there to support you in your desired birth preferences, whether that is a preference for natural, non-medicated, assisted, C-section or anything else.

Certified doulas can also act as a liaison between you and hospital staff regarding your childbirth expectations and preferences. For example, if your preference is to have a non-medicated birth, a doula can help guide you through that process and create a personalized birth plan. A certified doula in Las Vegas, NV does not replace medical staff (such as your obstetrician and nurses).

  1. Give birth without the need for pain medicine
  2. Describe their birth experience in a positive way
  3. Give birth without the need for medical intervention, such as C-sections or vacuum delivery
  4. Experience a shorter labor

You can hire a doula early in your pregnancy to allow you time to get to know each other and to begin planning for your later trimesters, labor, birth, and aftercare. It is ideal to hire a doula when you are around 20 weeks along, but you can start looking for one before that.

It is never too late to hire a doula in Las Vegas, NV; you have right up to your due date to find a doula near you and receive all the benefits of doula support.

While many people think that a doula and a midwife are the same thing, their educational background and job duties are different. Doulas are non-medical professionals who provide emotional, physical and educational support, while also offering actionable advice and guidance to new parents about how to nurture their baby.

A midwife is a certified nurse-midwife (CNM) or a certified midwife (CM). CNMs are medical professionals that are certified and licensed by the American College of Nurse-Midwives. CMs are also certified, but they do not have nursing backgrounds.

Doulas are not medical professionals; they focus on the emotional support for the parents and the family before, during, and after the birth of the baby. Their job is to provide information, advice, and support to the family not diagnose any medical conditions or provide medical advice.
