Sandra did and amazing job helping before, during , and after my labor. She not emotionally supported me and my husband and I but physically helped as well by providing amazing massages and breathing techniques throughout my entire labor. If it wasnt for Sandra I would have never been able to enjoy the experience of having my 3 child all natural. Sandra has tons of experience and is able to vocalize on your behalf that your labor plan be followed when and if you are unable to .

The births of my two children have shaped who I am today as both a mother and a support for womben throughout their entire journey from conception to postpartum. I have a wide variety of training which has shaped how I approach my support for birth and post partum. The power of our thoughts and emotions can make all the difference in our birth experience and I value tools like mindfulness, hypnobirthing, meditation, and taking a deeper look at the beliefs which shape your ideas about birth. I approach birth and postpartum support using coaching methods. We work together to clarify your unique goals, understand your unique reality and possible obstacles, explore all your options, and then take action towards reaching your goals. I have a love for holistic and natural therapies. My services may include Hypnobirthing, Reiki, Aromatherapy, and other holistic knowledge inspired by western herbalism, homeopathy, and Ayurveda. Half of my family is South Indian Telugu, and I am passionate for supporting women from the Indian community desiring support in birth and postpartum which feels more culturally aligned.

Care philosophy

My priority is helping you reach your unique birth goals while feeling informed, in control, and confident. I value body autonomy, informed consent, and a mothers innate intuition.

I became interested in birth education and support shortly after the birth of my son in 2019. I started out wanting to become a childbirth educator but after the birth of my daughter and experience with my own doula in 2022, I knew I had to become a doula as well. So, I started Ebb and Flow Birth Co. to help support and empower women and families through conception, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Care philosophy

I believe that the mother is in charge of her birth. She should feel empowered and respected in her birth choices. I am an advocate for birth choice, autonomy, and true informed consent.

I was Hannah’s birth doula before she decided to pursue doula education. She prepared for her VBAC birth with intensity. She was well-read and educated. She was passionate about all things birth related. During her birth she was able to walk her talk and she did it! After that nothing could stop her. She was so driven to become a doula and educator so she could help other women to achieve their goals. She will be a great birth professional.

Madison considers every aspect of the mother and baby in her work. The way I look at pregnancy, birth and postpartum has completely changed after learning from her and receiving her care. I am so much more empowered, knowledgeable, and confident for my second pregnancy. I’m hoping she will be my doula again! I wouldn’t want to give birth without her by my side.

I have been a doula for over 11 years and have served more than 270 families, some of them multiple times. I became a doula to create positive birth memories for parents. To help parents understand what to expect and rid them of the misconceptions and fears. To relieve the unfair amount of pressure put on Moms and Dads through this process focused maternity journey. To eliminate unnecessary interventions and re-enforcing informed consent. Birth is not "ABC", let a doula help. The more people who know and learn about doulas, the bigger impact we can make on positive maternal and baby outcomes in the world of birth.

Care philosophy

Doulas serve such an important role in pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum. We serve to compensate for this "gap" where it is underestimated what labor will involve and over estimated what maternity care will provide. We live in this gap and educate and advocate to bring positive birth experiences to parents. A doula's confidence about birth is passed on to the pregnant mother to empower.

My husband and I found Shelby through the Community Health Network doula program, and we couldn’t have found a more perfect match for us! I wanted to avoid all interventions and experience the most natural birth possible, while keeping my health and baby’s health absolute priority. Although the birth experience didn’t go exactly as we had hoped, Shelby provided support and love throughout the process. Before labor and delivery, she was available at any time of day to answer my questions. During labor and delivery, Shelby helped me find the most comfortable positions, provided massage, and coached my husband so that he was able to support me even better than he already was. Shelby provided us with a birth story a few days later with details about my son’s birth that I will forever cherish. I highly recommend Shelby to any mom hoping for a natural birth and to any couple that seeks the excellent care and the unwavering love and support that Shelby demonstrated during my birth experience.

I’m a young, happily married mom of two. During my first birth I had all these hopes and dreams for my experience that was stolen from me due to health issues. After that I looked into what I could do to help others have the experience I didn’t get to have. After searching and searching I found Doula’s through an ad for a certification program for it. I had no idea what it was so I looked into it. After watching documentaries and reading so many stories of people who utilized Doula’s I fell in love with the career. It became my life. All I could think about all the time. Spending hours when I should be sleeping reading all about the career. It’s my life now in every way. It’s made me a better mother and a better person. Now being certified through a very basic certification just so I could get started and just having something to back up all the knowledge I already had I’m truly ready to continue my journey and love for childbirth with my clients.

Care philosophy

Prioritizing your birth experience I will be along with you for your journey of making the most out of birth. With the love and passion I have for my career I will walk through this journey with you and getting to know as a person not just a client. Building the trust and security needed going through labor and birth just by getting to know each other.

My name is Patience and I love everything, pregnancy, birth, and babies! I live on a homestead with my husband, daughter, our two indoor cats, and many, many animals outside on the farm. My journey in becoming a doula started after the magical birth of my daughter. I completed the Birth Doula Course through DONA International and am now in the process of getting my official certification. Society tells us that pregnancy is awful, and birth is downright scary and painful. I am here to tell you that society couldn't be further from the truth. I am here for you every step of the way; from pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My goal is to give you and your partner the loving support you deserve, and strengthen the confidence you have in yourself to bring a new life into this world. Your birth experience will change your life, and you deserve for it to be nothing short of incredible.

My name is Keirra. I have begun a new journey to be a postpartum doula. I would love to support women and their families in the very fragile period after delivery of their newborn. I am a mama to two littles--a 3 year and a 1.5 year old. Both of my experiences were very different. I have done a lot of reflecting on my own postpartum experience and realized that many things that I went through emotionally could have been reduced or avoided if I had felt comfortable talking through it with someone. Or even if I knew the resources available to me. In western societies, we are conditioned to just “thug” it out and deal with your own issues because, who cares, right? Wrong. This is a completely unnatural response. That's where I come in! I certainly don’t want to sound creepy, but I have always been drawn to pregnant people. Initially, I thought it was to be able to support them just in their pregnancy and their delivery. Now, I know that it is also to support them in their rebirth as a mother--to support them in their postpartum recovery.

Care philosophy

Hi! I'm Keirra Porter. I guide and nurture postpartum families to navigate their postpartum experience while promoting the rest and recovery of the birthing person. I provide non-judgmental support, comfort, and encouragement to my clients. Day in and day out, I enjoy meeting my clients where they are (mentally, physically, emotionally, all the above) in that specific day.

A postpartum doula in Greenwood, IN is meant to help the entire family and their role is not just limited to the birthing parent and newborn. A doula provides physical and emotional support to parents and siblings, but they also offer information and advice regarding how to feed, bathe, swaddle, and soothe the baby.

They also often help with postpartum depression issues, and are considered child care “consultants” rather than medical professionals. Many postpartum doulas in Greenwood, IN offer a range of services that can help with parents trying to adjust to a newborn child. These services often include:

  • Sibling care
  • Assist with household chores
  • Parent-baby bonding
  • Physical and emotional recovery
  • Support to parents and extended family

A postpartum doula in Greenwood, IN can have a lasting positive impact on a family and help them feel more confident about their parenting role and the way that they feed and nurture their baby. They might offer advice regarding feeding, bathing, and parent-baby bonding.

It is important to note that a postpartum doula might offer advice but is not expected to provide medical care of any kind or serve as a replacement to an accredited physician. Postpartum doulas are also not qualified to prescribe medication.

Many new parents want to know about certified postpartum doulas and how exactly they are certified. Since the demand for postpartum doulas has greatly expanded in the last several years, the number of reputable postpartum doula training and certification programs has grown in Greenwood, IN. Training criteria can differ from program to program, but most follow a similar curriculum which includes core academic curriculum and practical hours and real-life care experience.

One of the most common national postpartum doula training certifications comes from DONA International. A postpartum doula usually receives about 27 hours of practical training before they are a certified postpartum doula.

There are also CAPPA-certified postpartum doulas in Greenwood, IN, as well. These doulas were certified by the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association, an international organization that certifies doulas and other childbirth educators/professionals.

As a reminder, because postpartum doulas are not trained to be a medical professional and diagnose and treat medical conditions, a certification is not required for them to practice.

As their names suggest, a birth doula’s main priority is to provide support services before, during and in the moments immediately after childbirth. A postpartum doula’s obligations usually begin after the birth, for several weeks or months. In many cases, your birth doula will also be a trained and certified postpartum doula, which can provide a continuity of care that many parents find extremely valuable.

Many parents want to know whether a postpartum doula or a baby nurse would meet their needs and expectations. A baby nurse might be focused on making sure that a baby sleeps or feeds properly, but that might be the extent of their role. A postpartum doula generally offers more holistic services for their clients.

A postpartum doula in Greenwood, IN is expected to be more involved with the family as a whole. They might remain involved in sibling care or also provide emotional support to the partner as both parents adjust to becoming new parents. This may even include support for older siblings, light housework, and even meal prep. A postpartum doula provides more physical, emotional, and informational support than a baby nurse.

You can hire two types of doulas in Greenwood, IN: a birth doula and a postpartum doula. The birth doula is during your pregnancy and through the birth of your child. They provide you with emotional, physical and educational support during your pregnancy, your labor and delivery and for the first few hours after your child is born.

A postpartum doula will support you for the first few weeks after the baby is born. They provide in-home assistance, including teaching you how to take care of your newborn, acting as lactation consultant, and can provide some night nanny services.
