Kendal is thoughtful and intentional regarding educating her clients on pertinent background information. Kendal was always professional when providing services including making sure her client knows the reason behind practicing an exercise or using a certain modality. Kendal uses her experiences as a way to engage her client. What I remember most, is her empathetic attitude, which is what I needed from a health provider as an expectant new mother. It was challenging but Kendal tenderness provided me comfort in being able to get to full term and deliver a healthy baby.

I first heard about doulas when I was in high school researching things to do for my senior project. I love the idea of being able to help families transition into life with a new baby. I unfortunately had to postpone the start of my doula journey until I was 18 and could be certified. Another driving factor that lead me to becoming a doula was the birth of my own son. Right after having my son I knew that this is what I was being called to do and that I had to get started on my path to helping others. The support I received solidified in my mind how vital a doula is in the daunting transition of becoming a parent.

Care philosophy

I believe that every birthing person deserves to have a positive experience during labor and the postpartum period. Supporting parents of any background and in they way they want to give birth and recover is my top priority.

Inspired by the education and compassionate care I received during my first pregnancy and birth, I trained as a doula with toLabor in 2012. Since then, I have worked in five different states and supported over 30 families As a postpartum doula, I offer baby feeding support, meal prep and cooking, light housework, baby and child care so parents can sleep, running errands, companionship, overnight care, and help troubleshooting the issues that may arise in the first weeks after birth.

Care philosophy

My goal is to offer calm, compassionate support for your birth. As a doula, it is an honor to help you give birth in way where you feel safe, loved, and strong.

Ilaria attended our first two births and was absolutely amazing – the only reason she didn’t attend our third is that we lived too far away :(. Not only was Ilaria very knowledgeable and helpful during pregnancy, and helped prepare us for a natural childbirth as well as potential hospital stays, she was incredible during the entire laboring process, the first of which lasted 36 hours. She was always calm, offering words of encouragement and helpful suggestions and just had a natural way of knowing what to do and where to be without being asked. Her gentle presence was very reassuring and she provided both my husband and I comfort and guidance throughout the entire process, including how to navigate tricky hospital situations. She was certainly a rock for both of us and we are so grateful she was there to support and guide us through the most incredible (and sometimes difficult and scary!) journey. We love her dearly and are so appreciative for all she did to make both of our experiences so wonderful!

Hi! My name is Kailee! I was forcefully called to birth work through my own high risk pregnancy. As someone who went through my experiences alone, I truly understand the value of catered support and how much of an impact it can have on all birthing parents and their current support team (if any). Besides my son there is nothing I am more passionate about than birth work and learning anything and everything there is to learn. I am currently certifying as both a full spectrum birth and postpartum doula. I am a certified peer lactation counselor and placenta preparation specialist! I am happy to work with most budgets, as I believe EVERYONE should have access to the best care.

Care philosophy

I believe every parent’s idea of care is uniquely their own and should be honored as such. I am here for YOU and your needs! I am very passionate about birth work and the idea that every parent has access to the best care and doula support. Emotionally, physically, spiritually and through education I am here to support you!

Birth can be a wonderful experience. My goals are to help guide that experience. I will provide you with continuous evidence based support, and comfort measures. I aim to serve YOU and your family to provide a safe and supportive environment so that pregnant parents, as well as baby are safe and confident in the labor process. Many birthing persons do not realize all of the decisions that they have to make before, during and after birth. And that they do, and should, have a say in all of these decisions. I want to help families make informed choices that will enhance their birth experience and bring a healthy person into the world safely.

Care philosophy

A birth philosophy is a set of ideas, truths and values about birth that someone believes in and holds to be true. At Blossom Buddy Doula Service, I respect, support and encourage you in your philosophy. When I am hired, my clients know that I provide true, judgment free support, loving emotional support and can offer information upon request.

A postpartum doula in Greenville, SC is meant to help the entire family and their role is not just limited to the birthing parent and newborn. A doula provides physical and emotional support to parents and siblings, but they also offer information and advice regarding how to feed, bathe, swaddle, and soothe the baby.

They also often help with postpartum depression issues, and are considered child care “consultants” rather than medical professionals. Many postpartum doulas in Greenville, SC offer a range of services that can help with parents trying to adjust to a newborn child. These services often include:

  • Sibling care
  • Assist with household chores
  • Parent-baby bonding
  • Physical and emotional recovery
  • Support to parents and extended family

A postpartum doula in Greenville, SC can have a lasting positive impact on a family and help them feel more confident about their parenting role and the way that they feed and nurture their baby. They might offer advice regarding feeding, bathing, and parent-baby bonding.

It is important to note that a postpartum doula might offer advice but is not expected to provide medical care of any kind or serve as a replacement to an accredited physician. Postpartum doulas are also not qualified to prescribe medication.

Many new parents want to know about certified postpartum doulas and how exactly they are certified. Since the demand for postpartum doulas has greatly expanded in the last several years, the number of reputable postpartum doula training and certification programs has grown in Greenville, SC. Training criteria can differ from program to program, but most follow a similar curriculum which includes core academic curriculum and practical hours and real-life care experience.

One of the most common national postpartum doula training certifications comes from DONA International. A postpartum doula usually receives about 27 hours of practical training before they are a certified postpartum doula.

There are also CAPPA-certified postpartum doulas in Greenville, SC, as well. These doulas were certified by the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association, an international organization that certifies doulas and other childbirth educators/professionals.

As a reminder, because postpartum doulas are not trained to be a medical professional and diagnose and treat medical conditions, a certification is not required for them to practice.

As their names suggest, a birth doula’s main priority is to provide support services before, during and in the moments immediately after childbirth. A postpartum doula’s obligations usually begin after the birth, for several weeks or months. In many cases, your birth doula will also be a trained and certified postpartum doula, which can provide a continuity of care that many parents find extremely valuable.

Many parents want to know whether a postpartum doula or a baby nurse would meet their needs and expectations. A baby nurse might be focused on making sure that a baby sleeps or feeds properly, but that might be the extent of their role. A postpartum doula generally offers more holistic services for their clients.

A postpartum doula in Greenville, SC is expected to be more involved with the family as a whole. They might remain involved in sibling care or also provide emotional support to the partner as both parents adjust to becoming new parents. This may even include support for older siblings, light housework, and even meal prep. A postpartum doula provides more physical, emotional, and informational support than a baby nurse.

You can hire two types of doulas in Greenville, SC: a birth doula and a postpartum doula. The birth doula is during your pregnancy and through the birth of your child. They provide you with emotional, physical and educational support during your pregnancy, your labor and delivery and for the first few hours after your child is born.

A postpartum doula will support you for the first few weeks after the baby is born. They provide in-home assistance, including teaching you how to take care of your newborn, acting as lactation consultant, and can provide some night nanny services.
