I answered the calling to birth work in 2021 and received my birth doula training through Carriage House Birth the same year. I am dedicated to providing evidence based care and support to help all of my clients make informed decisions about their births. My package includes prenatal visits to discuss how we will work together and how I can help you prepare for your birth. During our visits we will talk about nutrition, exercise and movement, body balancing, self care, pelvic floor support, and how I will work with you and your partner during labor. I also offer some initial postpartum care and am trained in lactation support. Becoming a parent and bringing new life into the world requires so much and I'm here to support you through that transition.

Care philosophy

I'm here to provide compassionate and equitable care for all birthing people. In my care I provide evidence based information and support to help clients make informed decisions about their births.

Pregnancy, Newborn, Family Photographer and Postpartum Doula. I have been helping families document these special times for years. I needed a doula when I had my baby and didn’t have one. This has inspired me to help other parents. I am a mother myself to a teen now and have more time to give. I love helping new parents rest, eat, heal and take care of baby after birth.

Care philosophy

I like to focus on the 5 Pillars of healing: Rest, Nourishment, Loving touch, Wisewomen, Connection to nature.

Suzanne was an amazing postpartum doula. She understood the importance of real support and knew how to connect with her clients’ emotions in a delicate time. From the moment I met Suzanne I knew she was someone who was honest, caring, and absolutely loved little ones. My baby also felt safe in her presence. Can’t recommend Suzanne enough.

When people say "it takes a village", they aren't wrong! My job is to be part of that village. I have been working with families for 15+ years, in infant classrooms and in-home. I meet my families where they are and grow alongside them! My goal is to help you meet your goals! Every mother and family has specific desires for postpartum life, being there to support, encourage or simply give you a chance to nap is where I come in. I established Doula Bell in 2022 after witnessing the lack of support during the postpartum period. I was my sister's "unofficial doula" during both of her pregnancies 7 & 11 years ago. I saw her struggle through breastfeeding, societal pressures, sleep deprivation and so much more. I started helping families in-home but really wanted to focus on this time after birth. They call me the baby whisperer! :) In my spare time I love walking and taking my 2 rescues, Thanos & Raymond to the dog park. I have 3 bonus daughters with my soon to be husband. We love going to the Raleigh Flea market, going swimming or having game night! I am a huge sports fan, playing college softball. You can find me cheering for the NE Patriots and the Boston Red Sox! I can't wait to meet your family and new addition!

Care philosophy

Working with families for so many years, I've learned that REALLY listening to my clients is extremely important. Everyone's journey is different. I really focus on the needs of the specific client and work to create a trusting relationship. I pride myself on being able to put myself in people's shoes, being able to approach each situation as a non-judgmental ally. I truly love what I do!

Hi everyone! My name is Jaden Millner(she/her) I am located in Eden NC, I am the owner of Soleil Doula co. I finished my initial training with DONA in September of 2020, but I have decided to change agencies and am currently training as a full spectrum doula with Birthing Advocacy. I am a dog mom to the sweetest pup named Bear. A HUGE lover of reading and thrifting!!! Birth work has always been something that I have been interested in, even as a child I would pretend to be a midwife and my brother would be my patient. I found out what a doula was shortly after I had found out that I struggle with infertility, in that experience I felt called to serve others. My end goal is to become a midwife but I am so happy and fulfilled with being a doula so I plan to be here for a while. Thanks for reading! Feel free to search my social media! Instagram: soleildoula.co Facebook: Soleil Doula co.

Care philosophy

Every family deserves a doula, no matter their income, gender, sexuality, race, etc. I believe that every birthing person deserves to enjoy their birth experience and have the support needed to fulfill that.

Jaden was really there for me during everything. I was having complications in my pregnancy and when she didn’t know something, she immediately did research and/or asked her mentor for additional information. During labor she was by myself the whole time advocating for me and my baby. I will definitely go to her again in the future!

A postpartum doula in Burlington, NC is meant to help the entire family and their role is not just limited to the birthing parent and newborn. A doula provides physical and emotional support to parents and siblings, but they also offer information and advice regarding how to feed, bathe, swaddle, and soothe the baby.

They also often help with postpartum depression issues, and are considered child care “consultants” rather than medical professionals. Many postpartum doulas in Burlington, NC offer a range of services that can help with parents trying to adjust to a newborn child. These services often include:

  • Sibling care
  • Assist with household chores
  • Parent-baby bonding
  • Physical and emotional recovery
  • Support to parents and extended family

A postpartum doula in Burlington, NC can have a lasting positive impact on a family and help them feel more confident about their parenting role and the way that they feed and nurture their baby. They might offer advice regarding feeding, bathing, and parent-baby bonding.

It is important to note that a postpartum doula might offer advice but is not expected to provide medical care of any kind or serve as a replacement to an accredited physician. Postpartum doulas are also not qualified to prescribe medication.

Many new parents want to know about certified postpartum doulas and how exactly they are certified. Since the demand for postpartum doulas has greatly expanded in the last several years, the number of reputable postpartum doula training and certification programs has grown in Burlington, NC. Training criteria can differ from program to program, but most follow a similar curriculum which includes core academic curriculum and practical hours and real-life care experience.

One of the most common national postpartum doula training certifications comes from DONA International. A postpartum doula usually receives about 27 hours of practical training before they are a certified postpartum doula.

There are also CAPPA-certified postpartum doulas in Burlington, NC, as well. These doulas were certified by the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association, an international organization that certifies doulas and other childbirth educators/professionals.

As a reminder, because postpartum doulas are not trained to be a medical professional and diagnose and treat medical conditions, a certification is not required for them to practice.

As their names suggest, a birth doula’s main priority is to provide support services before, during and in the moments immediately after childbirth. A postpartum doula’s obligations usually begin after the birth, for several weeks or months. In many cases, your birth doula will also be a trained and certified postpartum doula, which can provide a continuity of care that many parents find extremely valuable.

Many parents want to know whether a postpartum doula or a baby nurse would meet their needs and expectations. A baby nurse might be focused on making sure that a baby sleeps or feeds properly, but that might be the extent of their role. A postpartum doula generally offers more holistic services for their clients.

A postpartum doula in Burlington, NC is expected to be more involved with the family as a whole. They might remain involved in sibling care or also provide emotional support to the partner as both parents adjust to becoming new parents. This may even include support for older siblings, light housework, and even meal prep. A postpartum doula provides more physical, emotional, and informational support than a baby nurse.

You can hire two types of doulas in Burlington, NC: a birth doula and a postpartum doula. The birth doula is during your pregnancy and through the birth of your child. They provide you with emotional, physical and educational support during your pregnancy, your labor and delivery and for the first few hours after your child is born.

A postpartum doula will support you for the first few weeks after the baby is born. They provide in-home assistance, including teaching you how to take care of your newborn, acting as lactation consultant, and can provide some night nanny services.
